The WildStar client tells us what the game looked like and what the client expects from a server. It does not tell us what the live servers did: how long a boss waited between two abilities, how far a creature chased you, what a vendor sold, how often a boss dropped a given item. Those rules lived on Carbine's servers, and no Wowhead-style database of them was ever made. This page lists what still exists, how far each source can be trusted, what it can settle for Bezgelor, and how you can help. The full inventory, with access notes, is in the research note.
Everything here builds on work other people did while the game was live, and on the NexusForever project, whose world database is the only real server traffic we have. Thank you to all of them.
We store no copies of any of it: only citations and the specific facts a source settles. Our data labels each piece as reference (a source says so), derived (computed from client tables) or guess (how that works; what is a guess is in the WildStar delta).
The sources, from most to least useful to us
Bezgelor targets the final live game (after WildStar: Reloaded and free-to-play), the build of the client we run. Each source has an era. When an older source agrees with the final era, our value is checked twice; when it disagrees, we keep the final build's value and label the older figure as a different era.
| Source | Era | What it can settle | How far to trust it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jabbithole, the crowd-sourced database (2014-2017); the site is down, Wayback Machine copies remain | Before Reloaded: each page records the last version it saw (mostly Drop 5; some Drop 4, Drop 3, launch, open beta) | Levels, health, ability lists, vendor stock, drop lists, quest and event objectives | Good for lists and numbers an addon could read. Its drop percentages are each item's share of recorded drops, not a per-kill rate |
| The NexusForever world database (retail captures, later edited) | Final live era: the captured zones hold free-to-play NPCs (the Protostar Store Consultant, zone envoys) and an Arcterra Emissary | Where creatures stood and faced, their health and level, patrol routes | Strong for placement and stats; says nothing about behaviour; no dungeons or raids |
| Dulfy's guides (Wayback copies) | July 2014 (launch) | Boss health, interrupt counts, phase thresholds | Good for what it states; rarely gives cooldowns |
| Official news and patch notes | Dated | Intended rules, changes, "1-2 day" respawns | Authoritative on intent, thin on numbers |
| The WildStar wikis (Fandom) | Mostly launch (2014) | Walkthroughs, ability descriptions | Mixed, written by players |
| Addons such as Catalog (boss loot lists, built from Jabbithole and WildHeap) | As their sources | Which items a boss could drop | A derivative of the above |
| Developer posts (forums, Reddit) | Dated | Aggro, leash, threat, drop rules, if a developer said them | High if found; we have found none yet |
| Video | Dated | Cadence, kill times, telegraph durations | The best of all, if a person reads it |
| The IGN wiki's "WildStar Leveling Guide" (a community wiki page dated 2026-09-07; https://www.ign.com/wikis/wildstar/Leveling_Guide) | Unknown: the page gives no game version, and its charts look launch-era (2014) | Unlock levels by bracket (ability slots, gear, features) and the zones of each level band; the queue ranges of some instances. Compared in the 1.0 leveling comparison | Low to medium: a community wiki with several authors and mixed eras. Client tables win where they differ |
We found no combat-log parsing site for WildStar.
What we have checked so far
| Question | Result |
|---|---|
| Kraggar before Reloaded: level and health | Level 11 and 1,371,100 health with six abilities, per an archived Jabbithole page. Matches our entry |
| Kraggar respawn, group size | "1-2 days", balanced for 20 players (one to two tanks, two to three healers), per the official 2015-11-12 post. Matches |
| Stormtalon's phase thresholds (87%, 61% Static Wave; Eye of the Storm at 55%, 30%, 5% on veteran) | Dulfy's guide says the same ("roughly"). Matches |
| A vendor's stock | Retail Amylee Silverstand sold 16 level 10-11 armor items (Jabbithole); our generated list for her has 100 other items. our generated vendor stock does not reproduce retail; we are looking for a way to replace it (#213) |
| Drop rates | Jabbithole shows which items a boss dropped, not how often a kill drops one. Our rates stay guesses |
| Boss ability cadences (Stormtalon, Blade-Wind, Kraggar) | No archived text gives them. They stay guesses |
| Creature aggro radius and leash | We found no archived statement. They stay guesses |
What we have harvested
The first harvest turned the archived pages into a fact base the whole project can use. Every fact is a number or a list with its
source (an archived page, with the snapshot time), the game version the source records, and the label reference; nothing is copied
from the pages themselves. The facts are in apps/bezgelor_data/priv/data/ground_truth/ (ask them with tools/ground_truth/query.py),
and the tools that make and check them are in tools/ground_truth/: a polite, resumable Wayback harvester, a parser, a fact builder and a
reconciler. The pages themselves stay in a cache outside the repository.
This pass has facts for 362 of the 4,690 creatures in the levelling zones and built instances (every boss and miniboss of a built instance among them), the stock of 241 vendors, 654 quests and 54 guide and patch-note facts. The harvest is resumable and still running, so these numbers will grow. The reconciliation compares our data with the facts, creature by creature, vendor by vendor and quest by quest, and says for each whether we agree (confirmed), disagree (contradicted, both values shown), had nothing (filled) or the sources are silent (no source). What it shows so far:
- Quests match. Of the 654 quests with an archived page, the level agrees for 652, the minimum level for 652, the experience for 653, the credits for 535 of 536 with a value, and the giver for 537 of 539: the quest formulas we ported are right. Reward items differ for 64, where the archived list names an item we lack; Reloaded revised quest rewards, so most of those are version differences.
- Vendor stock now follows the archive. 241 vendors have a retail stock list (the first pass found 66; the harvest was extended to every merchant that stands in the world we spawn). The 228 of them that are vendors in our data sell exactly that list (before, 56 of 66 differed and 33 shared no item with ours); the 108 merchants with no archived page serve their generated list as a labelled guess, filtered of the client rows retail never sold (#213). The pages date from 2014 to 2017, so a stock a patch changed may differ from the final build.
- Creature health is settled. Two retail sources, the spawn captures in the NexusForever world database (final era) and the archived Jabbithole pages (Drop 5), gave the same health for the same creature at the same level, about 20% more than our formula. The formula missed a term: retail max health is BaseHealth' + 14 x Stamina', with the creature's own Creature2OverrideProperties values replacing the default. It now reproduces 2,240 of 2,255 captured creatures (25 before), the open-world archive pages, 45 of 53 archived raid figures and the wiki's launch figures for Skullcano. Older instance pages that still differ are an earlier era: the final build's override rows are higher, and we follow the final build. See the semantic registry ("Creature default properties").
- Bosses. Dulfy's veteran guides give the same interrupt armor as our encounter data for 7 of 8 bosses checked, and different numbers for a few mechanics (for example Aethros's Tempest is a 15-second cast in the guide). Of the 53 raid creatures with an archived health, 45 equal the corrected formula exactly; the others keep the final build's value with the archived figure noted as an older era.
- Rules from patch notes. A Carbine post of July 2014 states the dungeon loot rule (20% for the final boss to roll the superb table, 10% per bonus medal roll); Reloaded made wildlife neutral in Northern Wilds, Algoroc, Celestion, Crimson Isle and Everstar Grove; and it put Kel Voreth at level 25 (an older archive page says 20).
- Abilities. The archive lists what each creature could cast, with Spell4 ids (all of them exist in our table). Creatures with no ability list in our data now have one to build on.
How you can help
You do not need to code. A source and a number are enough.
- Time a boss from your own footage. Pick an ability in the delta document (for example Stormtalon's Lightning Strike or Kraggar's Pulverize), find it in a video, and note the video id (or your own capture), the mm:ss of two consecutive casts, the group size and the difficulty. Open an issue titled with the boss and ability and paste those. "About 20 seconds, from here at 12:41 to 13:01" is enough. See #219 for the shortlist.
- Answer a question from memory. "How far could you stand from a level 20 creature before it noticed you?" "Did Kraggar's earthquake last about 8 seconds?" "What did this vendor sell?" Say how sure you are and whether you remember it or have a screenshot.
- Share a capture or a screenshot of a vendor window, a loot window, a boss health bar or a combat log, with the date and zone. We keep the fact, not the image, unless you say we may.
- Point us at an archived page (a forum thread with a developer reply, a guide, a patch note) that states a rule. A Wayback Machine link is perfect.
- Tell us when we are wrong. A correct citation that contradicts a guess is more valuable than agreement.
How to cite: give the source (URL or video id with a time), what it says, and the date if
you know it. We record it in the basis of the affected data and, where it clearly settles
the value, move that piece from guess to reference. Nobody on the project has timed
footage, so a person's reading of a timer is something we cannot get any other way.
What we will do with it
Issues are open for deeper, polite harvests of each source: Jabbithole vendors, the NexusForever world database, Dulfy's guides, official news and patch notes, the Catalog addon, developer statements and video timing questions. We use the Wayback Machine's public endpoints with pauses and single requests, respect robots files and site terms, and do not copy third-party tables into the repository.
