Remembering the original game

Did you play WildStar when it was live? Then you know things that no table and no guide holds: how long a boss took between its attacks, what a quest gave, where a creature stood. Bezgelor is rebuilt from what survives of the original game, and wherever something is missing we had to guess. Your memory is evidence we cannot get any other way. Type /c remember and tell us.

How to tell us

Type /c remember followed by what you remember, and press Enter (typing commands).

You: /c remember Stormtalon's lightning came about every 30 seconds
Game: Thank you! Your memory (number 12) is saved. I noted that you were near Stormtalon.
It will be checked against other sources before anything changes.

A few tips make a memory much more useful:

  • Stand near it, or target it first. The game then records where you are, what you have targeted and which boss is nearest. "He did the circles twice" means little on its own and a lot when we know it was Blade-Wind the Invoker.
  • For a quest, pick it. Type /c remember quest to see your quests, /c remember quest 2 to pick the second, then /c remember and your words. The quest is attached to the next memory you send.
  • Say what you remember and how sure you are. "I think it was about 30 seconds" is fine. So is "I am sure it dropped a blue".
  • One thing per memory. Up to 500 characters each.

Everything you can type

Type What it does
/c remember Explains what this is for
/c remember and your words Saves a memory
/c remember quest Lists your quests
/c remember quest 2 Attaches quest 2 of that list to your next memory (quest 0 for none)
/c remember help The same explanation

You can send a memory every 20 seconds, and up to 10 in an hour.

What happens next

A memory is a lead, not a fact. Nothing in the game changes because one person remembers something, even a person who is right. Instead:

  1. The memory is stored with the place, the target and the quest.
  2. The people who work on Bezgelor see the memories grouped by creature, quest and zone. Several players remembering the same thing counts for a lot. Memories about something we have marked as a guess are flagged.
  3. They look for another source (archived guides, patch notes, recordings). When one agrees, the guess becomes a fact with its source written down, and the game changes.

You will not get a mail for a memory, but you can see what we are unsure about any time with /c progress (how far along is it).

What a memory includes

  • your words;
  • your character's name, the zone, instance and position, your target and the nearest boss, the quest you picked, and the server version.

A memory does not include your chat messages or whispers, your e-mail address or your IP address. It is read by the people who work on Bezgelor; nobody else sees it.
