Typing commands

Bezgelor has a few commands of its own: for reporting a bug, getting unstuck, asking why something does not work, and more. You type them in the chat box, starting with /c and a space.

/c stuck
/c bug
/c why

How to type one

  1. Press /. The chat box opens, ready for a command.
  2. Type c, a space, and the command, for example c stuck. The box now reads /c stuck.
  3. Press Enter.

The answer appears in your chat window. Other players do not see your command or the answer.

If the chat box is already open, type the whole line, /c stuck, and press Enter.

The commands

Type What it does
/c bug Report a problem (how)
/c stuck Move to a safe place when the scenery traps you (how)
/c why What the game can see in your way; /c why quest explains your quest step by step (how)
/c known Problems we already know about in your quests (how)
/c progress How far along the place you are in is (how)
/c remember Tell us what you remember of the original game (how)
/c news What's new: your reports that are fixed and ready to check, and the latest release notes (Field Kit)
/c A short list of these commands

Each one explains itself if you add help, for example /c stuck help.

Why /c?

/c is a command the game already knows. Anything after it goes to Bezgelor. A made-up command such as /why would not: the game answers "Unknown command" and never sends it. (/stuck without the c is the game's own window for recalling to your bind point or your house. /c stuck is the one that frees you from the scenery.)

The older ! commands

Commands starting with !, such as !stuck, still work when you type them in the chat box. The trouble is the first key: ! is Shift+1, and if the chat box is not open, Shift+1 uses an action bar slot instead of starting a message. Press Enter first if you want to use them. / does not have this problem, because it opens the chat box.

For testers: getting to a place fast

If your account has permission to teleport, /c tp takes you to a character, a quest giver or your next quest step without typing coordinates.

Type Where it takes you
/c tp npc Laveka To a character, by part of the name (or the number of the creature). You land two steps in front of them, facing them. If several characters match, you get a short numbered list; type /c tp npc 2 to pick the second.
/c tp quest Moodoo Voodoo To the character who gives that quest, by the quest's number or words from its title. A quest that starts from an item or a call says so, and takes you to the first place it names.
/c tp next To the next step of the quest you are tracking (or your first quest, if you track none). Add a quest's number or words from its title, as in /c tp next skeech, to go to that quest's next step instead.

The answer tells you where you went, for example "To Apprentice Laveka (Celestion, Celestial River)". If you are in the same area as more than one match, the nearest one is chosen.

For testers: taking, skipping and finishing quests

With the same permission, /c quest lets you try a quest without playing the ones before it. Name a quest by its number or by words from its title. If several quests match, you get a short numbered list; type the same command with the number to pick one (for example /c quest add 2).

Type What it does
/c quest add Skeech Incursion Gives you the quest now, whatever its earlier quests, level or side. It behaves like a quest you picked up yourself: it appears in your log and tracker. The answer says what it skipped, for example "Skipped: finish 'The Key to Power' first."
/c quest prep Skeech Incursion Marks every earlier quest in its chain as done (no rewards). Calls on your communicator that those quests would have brought count as heard, because some givers wait for one first. The quest giver then offers the quest the normal way. The answer lists what it completed and who gives the quest; /c tp quest 5960 takes you there.
/c quest complete 5960 Fills in all the steps of a quest you have, so it is ready to hand in.
/c quest finish 5960 Hands the quest in and gives its rewards. If it offers a choice of reward, none is picked.
/c quest reset 5960 Takes the quest out of your log and your history, so you can take it again. If the quest log still shows it as done, log out and in once.
/c quest list Your active quests, with their numbers and how far along each one is.

Everything is saved, so it is all still there after you log out and in.
